Dr. Mackel is a specialist in orthopaedic surgery. He is a graduate of Indiana University and received his Medical Degree from Indiana University School of Medicine. His Internship was at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, and he completed his Residency at Indiana University. Dr. Mackel is an associate faculty member of the Indiana University School of Medicine for the Fort Wayne Orthopaedic Residency Program, and he is Co-Director of the Northeast Indiana Muscular Dystrophy Clinic. Dr. Mackel has been a consultant to the Veterans Administration Hospital and to the Allen County Turnstone Center. Dr. Mackel is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Indiana Orthopaedic Society, the Clinical Orthopaedic Society, the Mid-America Orthopaedic Association, and the Fort Wayne Medical Society.
